Background:

PeachAid Medical Initiative (PMI) is a non-governmental and community-based organization duly registered with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Corporate Affairs Commission Nigeria (RC 80566), Nigeria. Our work is in managing and implementing community-based interventions that support Maternal Health Care, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right, and Family Planning, Menstrual Hygiene Management, Health Worker Capacity Building, and Economic Empowerment among young women and girls living in IDP camps and rural communities across Nigeria.

Data/ Statistics/Outcome for the period of July 2015 – August 2020

We have reached more than 27,000 pregnant mothers with our maternal health care services, preventing Post-Partum Hemorrhage (PPH), cord infection and identifying other pregnancy-related complications early

More than 42,000 women and 9000 men reached with our family planning services and commodities preventing unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and reduced maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Nigeria.

We have reached 2,500 young women and girls living in IDP camps with menstrual cups including trainings on the proper use and maintenance of the cups, and reduced incidence of period poverty for 2,500 young women and girls for the next 5-8 years.

We have trained more than 3,200 Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and 1,200 skilled birth attendants (SBAs) on Maternal and Reproductive Health care services.
